Castlebed is producer Rustin Davis. He received his B.A in music from Rollins College in Orlando, Florida. He has been producing for over 10 yrs; working with numerous different labels and film association. His musical diversity is shown in the film score for "G.P." (San Francisco Film Festival nominee) and the soon to be released, "Seminar". From film scores to house tracks, Rustin takes on any musically challenge that is thrown his way. However, house music is his ultimate love and now he is ready to share his beats with the rest of the world…

"Music has always been a major part of my life. As a child I always wanted to play an instrument. My parents bought me a drum set when I was 8 yrs old and I took every drum head out with a steak knife…. So I took a hiatus from music until the ripe age of 12 when I decided I wanted to play trumpet in the school band… Well, needless to say that didn't last!! I moved to Orlando FL that year and bought a drum set. I locked myself in my room for hours banging on the drums and finally could keep a beat… I played drums in many bands around Orlando; enjoying the music scene in Orlando. I studied percussion at Rollins college in Orlando Fl. There I took up the vibraphone and began to incorporate that into my live performances. I began dj-ing on the local college radio station and grew a deep love for all music. It was this love that drove me to dig deeper for truly great tunes, and that is when I stumbled upon house music.. After that there was no turning back…. I began producing house, electro house, and chill out lounge tunes… I formed a live electronica band that included live keyboards, bass, vocals, and guitar mixed with a dj spinning beats. We played around the southeast U.S and after college went our separate ways. I have been producing for 10 yrs now, growing and learning with every experience…. I draw in influences from many genres of music, especially jazz. I approach each song with an open mind and let the music convey its words to the listener. Music is the sound track to our lives.

HISTORY

Dustpan Recordings is a music label based in Singapore, a global melting pot where the groove of the West meets the vibrancy of the East. We seek to promote, create and distribute house music, and in doing so transmit its positive energy and message to people all over the world.

The label’s musical direction is spearheaded by Singaporean artist, Kane Ian who wishes to break out of the confines of easy main stream music, push boundaries so as to speak, putting out quality house music for the dance floor and easy listening for anytime anyplace.
