WILLIAM / MR PIRATED
Pirates have been around since the beginning of ships, looting and raiding settlements. On the contrary, William emerged from the suburbs, as Mr Pirated, selling his own brand of music. Known as a DJ and Producer, he enjoys sharing his love by unhooking fine jazzy, groovy House tunes to the people, getting everyone to shuffle their feet and often winning smiles from onlookers. 2007 was the year that got William to sign his 1st "Rooftop EP" with Singapore based House music label Dustpan Recordings. After setting foot and performing in Miami for the WMC 2008 (Winter Music Conference Dustpan/Clean House Party), his 2nd release, "The Jazzarama EP" sailed along, reaching the top 100 download on www.stompy.com, a San Francisco based online music store. Starting out as a young lad who covered from small house parties to playing at random bars with only a bag of old records ,he slowly carved his path into the music, stirring waves in the local scene, earning him slots at Attica, Fashion Bar, Thumper, Zouk club, etc. With his mind set to influence the world with his music, William constantly travels across continents to find inspirations for his productions. With his life and soul now greatly influenced by House music, he will continue to steer towards a life filled with funk, soul, jazz and groove.
HISTORY
Dustpan Recordings is a music label based in Singapore, a global melting pot where the groove of the West meets the vibrancy of the East. We seek to promote, create and distribute house music, and in doing so transmit its positive energy and message to people all over the world.
The label’s musical direction is spearheaded by Singaporean artist, Kane Ian who wishes to break out of the confines of easy main stream music, push boundaries so as to speak, putting out quality house music for the dance floor and easy listening for anytime anyplace.
