FERGUS

Fergus (Warwick Ferguson) is a producer from Melbourne, Australia, He started venturing into production by doing re-edits of tunes for his DJ sets, which started being picked up and played by other Djs. This inspired him to push forward with the proccess which has seen him develop his production style which is heavily influenced by jackin House and percussive techouse sounds with rolling basslines and funky percussion.


His first release came in early 2009 with his EP “Just Play” Coming out on Midwest Hustle Music, quickly followed by releases on Illegal Cargo and Greenhouse. These releases were well recieved and spurred him on with his creative proccess.


2010 saw further releases on Greenhouse, Brain Kat, Bump Shop and Hub City with all three tunes from his “A man named Vegas” EP making the stompy top 100 and Traxsource Jackin top 100 ,and by this time he had defined his musical style, and also had the chance to work with some of the artists that he had built respect for throught the House scene. 2011 has seen Fergus continue to release music in the global underground house scene with his Subteranean Funk EP coming out on Hub City Music, “Not for Sale” EP on Greenhouse, “Blues Moanin” EP on Maracuja, “Hijacked Funk EP” on Jump To This, “Sounds for Between Your Ears” on Smash Bang Records and EPs awaiting release on Union Recordings, Dustpan Records and Native Soul Recordings.


This past year he also started his A&R position with one of Melbourne’s longest running and respected Deep House & Techno labels Smash Bang Records. Fergus is also one of the founding members of the band The Freak Technique, who are gaining momentum quicklyi n there home city of Melbourne with a truly individual sound that launches funky house music onto the stage and performed by the talented six piece collective.


With continued support for his music from his House music peers, Fergus plans to continue releasing music in the underground house scene without having to compromise.
