From a music enthusiast, to an active dancer, to a local DJ, and to a respected international producer – Jay Mac has no intention in slowing down. Inspired by live alternative bands in his early youth, exposed to the creative and fun-loving nature of the rave culture, motivated by the golden era of hip hop in the 90s, and finding a home within the evolving jackin house community in the 2000s – Jay’s wide range of influences have all come together in a fluent and natural way.
He became one of the founding members of Phono Jones which soon after began making noise across the underground scene. The project was a success by gaining support from legendary artists such as Mark Farina, DJ Heather, and Hector Moralez. They have performed at the Winter Music Conference in Miami and released material on several international record labels such as Robsoul, Patsada and Kinjo.
Jay Mac is a natural selector; his sets are formed on the spot which range from deep and funky to techy and bad ass. Regardless of what he’s playing, it’s guaranteed that the night will be lively, creative, and fun. Jay Mac understands there are no physical obstacles in the way of his goals and has a bright future ahead of him.
