The first Romanian “Chicago House” export, Tibi Fratila became known as TBF since his debut in 2007.
In the early 2000’s, when the fresh wave of Romanian DJs hit the clubs all over the country, his love for underground dance music was born. But it was not only the DJ job that he fell in love with, but with the music production side of things as well. In 2007 he moved to the capital and started DJing @ Loggia, where he met the AWD crew – Piftek, Narcis & Kosta. They started sharing their love for house music of which TBF spent countless memorable nights in both Romania and away from playing legendary parties in Traian 42 to the opening act for Fatboy Slim to playing sets for “The Brothers” in Belgium. To note, he has also played alongside artists such as DJ Sneak, Derrick Carter, Todd Terry, Chez Damier, Loco Dice, Hector Moralez, Phil Weeks, Chris Simmonds and more.
“As a style, I’d rather listen to all things vintage. There was so much good music released before I was even born, Jazz/Funk/Soul/Disco. Every artist I discover from the past is marking my future, in these present times.” he states.
In April 3rd 2014, TBF started his own label, Stela Music – a way to have full control over his music where he promises the best of dance music, may it be house, techno or whatever!
