KANE IAN
Kane Ian is a Singapore-born DJ, producer, and label owner whose journey in house music began in the mid-90s.
His journey began in Singapore's underground scene, where he founded Radiance Crew. Over the years, he has performed in cities including New York, Tokyo, London, Mexico City, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Miami, as well as at events such as Burning Man. His sound draws from deep, tech, acid, and underground house, with influences from jazz, funk, and soul.
Ian is the founder of Dustpan Recordings, an independent label with a catalog of more than 200 releases from artists around the world. His releases have appeared on Mark Farina's Great Lakes Audio, as well as Juiced Music, Blockhead Recordings, Clean House Music, and Ginkgo Music. His catalog includes Visionaire and Call It Jazz, both of which reached the Top 10 on San Francisco's Stompy. As a producer and remixer, his work has included collaborations and remix projects involving Magik J, Matthew Brian, Sona Eyambe, Miguel Palhares, Funk Mediterraneo, Spuma, Nec SFS, and the Inland Knights.
In 2017, Ian was part of the founding team behind Singapore Community Radio, a platform created to connect local and international music communities through live broadcasts, interviews, and DJ performances. In 2018, he launched Dustpan Jazz, a sub-label dedicated to jazz, hip hop, and downtempo music, developed in collaboration with Japanese artist Kentaro Tsutsumi.
Alongside his work in music, Ian has collaborated with brands including Sony, X-Mini, Vicoustic, Armani Exchange, and Zegna. He has held residencies at W Singapore, Tanjong Beach Club, Fullerton Bay Hotel, and Hotel G, and has appeared at venues including Zouk, Phuture, Centro, Stereolab, Pangaea, Lulu's Lounge, Kyo, Kilo, and Gardens by the Bay.
Ian continues to oversee Dustpan Recordings while working as a DJ, producer, and curator.
