KANE IAN

Kane Ian has been immersed in house music since 1993, shaping the genre through his deep commitment to DJing and music production. A key figure in Singapore’s house music scene, he has built a steady career spanning over two decades, performing worldwide and producing over 100 releases through his independent label, Dustpan Recordings.
His journey began in Singapore’s underground scene, where he founded Radiance Crew, helping lay the foundation for the city’s modern house music culture. Over the years, Ian has performed in global hotspots including New York, Tokyo, London, Mexico City, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Miami (Winter Music Conference)—as well as at iconic events like Burning Man. His sound—an evolving blend of deep, tech, acid, and underground house layered with jazz, funk, and soul—has been featured at renowned venues such as Zouk Singapore on Jiak Kim Street, including its iconic smaller room, Phuture, a cornerstone of Asia’s club culture.
As the founder of Dustpan Recordings, Ian showcases a global roster of artists aligned with his vision of underground house music. His own music has charted in the Top 10 in the USA, and has been featured on Pete Tong’s BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix and Kiss FM. His releases span labels such as Juiced Music, Blockhead Recordings, Clean House Music, Ginkgo Music, and Great Lakes Audio, the latter run by Mark Farina. He holds remix credits for producers including Francesco Carrieri, Magik J, Inland Knights, Spuma, Funk Mediterraneo, and Sona Eyambe. His tracks have been supported by respected DJs such as Derrick Carter, Roger Sanchez, Phil Weeks, Mr. V, DJ Heather, Demuir, Johnny Fiasco, Dave Mayer, Scrubfish, Kid Enigma, and Jask.
Ian was featured on the cover of Juice Magazine (April 2011) and named Best Electronic Dance Music Producer by the publication in the same year.
In 2017, Ian was part of the founding team behind Singapore Community Radio—a platform created to connect local and international music communities through live DJ sets and interviews. The following year, he launched Dustpan Jazz, a sub-label dedicated to jazz, hip hop, and downtempo sounds, developed in collaboration with Japanese artist Kentaro Tsutsumi.
His work also extends into brand and creative collaborations with companies like Sony, X-Mini, Vicoustic, and luxury houses such as Armani Exchange and Zegna. His residencies at W Singapore, Tanjong Beach Club, Fullerton Bay Hotel, and Hotel G, along with appearances at venues like Centro, Stereolab, Pangaea, Lulu’s Lounge, Kyo, Kilo, and Gardens By The Bay, have further established his reputation for curating high-quality music experiences.
Ian has also brought his sound to W Hotels around the world, including a residency at W Singapore, and appearances at W London, W Seattle, W Maldives, and W Washington DC—just steps away from the White House.
For over 20 years, Ian has remained a dedicated and influential presence in the global house music scene—as a DJ, producer, and label owner—continually pushing the sound forward.
