Brazilian groove master Bell Mesk returns to Dustpan Recordings with his blistering new deep tech house weapon, "Acid Trumpet." Delivering a masterclass in late-night dancefloor tension, this four-track package seamlessly blends hypnotising 303 modulations with soulful, jazzy brass arrangements.
The package kicks off with the 'Acid Trumpet (Original Mix)', a peak-time roller fueled by a relentless bass groove, crisp percussion, and a piercing trumpet hook that cuts straight through the smoke machine. For those who want to dive deeper into the underground, the 'Acid Trumpet (Acid Dub Mix)' strips back the brass elements, pushes the raw squelch of the 303 to the forefront, and locks listeners into a hypnotic, jackin' state of mind.

Bell Mesk, a DJ since the early '90s, has always carried a deep Black influence in his sound. That influence stems from the Black music of the '70s, '80s, and '90s. By around 1994/1995, the Black roots of electronic music were already present in his sets, even as EuroDance dominated the local dance scene in areas like Ceilândia and Taguatinga. Yes, Bell Mesk is from the outskirts — and his sound was shaped by the raw, soulful grooves of Chicago.
Toward the end of the '90s, he explored the world of drum'n'bass, a style that defined his sets until around 2004. That year marked a turning point, as he shifted toward the refined, sophisticated sound of House Music.
In 2005, he was invited by Henrique Hermeto to perform at the Deep House Culture project, where he had the honor of opening the night for the legendary Victor Simonelli — even receiving vinyl records from Victor himself. From that moment on, Bell Mesk has consistently represented his own distinct sound, becoming a respected influence and reference point in the Federal District.
In 2008, he began a long-standing residency at the iconic Dudu Bar on 303 Sul — a run that lasted until 2024. His music there not only shaped the venue’s identity but also inspired countless others throughout Brasília and the surrounding region.
House music infused with disco and funk remains the foundation of Bell Mesk’s signature style. If there’s any doubt, just search his name — his productions and sets are widely available online.
