We welcome 2 house music heavyweights to the Dustpan Recordings artist roster, Terry Jasinto and TOKITA. New release titled “Fall Into The Music” will include an original title by Terry Jasinto and a remix by TOKITA – scheduled to be released this January 2021. Stay tuned for updates.
Tuning out his annoying parents (whom he loves very much by the way), is how Terry started arranging music with a dual cassette deck in his room back in the early 80’s. The mix tapes he made for himself and eventually his friends were influenced by heavy doses of New Wave and Rock, with layers of emotional overtones and chunky, swinging bass lines. Much of the music Terry plays and produces today has characteristics of what he listened to growing up.
Terry’s journey in the industry began in Seattle during the mid 1990s. He made a decade long stop in Miami in the early 2000’s, and eventually made his way to San Diego. Terry was recognized in the Northwest for his long standing residencies for infamous after-hours events in Seattle such as Habana’s, SuperHighway, and the Usual Suspects at Contour.
He has been featured with some of the most renowned DJs/producers of our time ranging from progressive giants such as Deep Dish, Talla 2XLC, and Sandra Collins, to the most notable names in house music such as Doc Martin, Gene Ferris, and Felix Da Housecat.
The method by which Terry presents the music he plays during DJ sets are known for having unique range, patience in the mix, and adaptable style of programming combined with a humble stage presence. ‘It’s all about the music and never about me’ according to Terry. His sets can run the gambit from deep house, to tech house depending on the atmosphere.
Terry’s performance highlights include numerous appearances at The End Up (San Francisco), Sonar (Vancouver B.C Canada), Showbox (Seattle), Re-Bar for Flammable (Seattle), Qool (San Francisco), and various annual appearances during the Winter Music Conference in Miami. His mix ‘When We Touch’ won an ‘Honorable Mention’ out of more than 3600 entries in John Digweed’s Future Music Magazine DJ competition in 2004, and was featured regularly on XM Satellite Radio’s ‘The Move’. You can usually catch Terry up and down the West Coast of the United States and beyond.
