Drunk At Vogue: Thank you! This album is a huge milestone in my career. I wanted to showcase my full spectrum of musical influences—tech house, deep house, and breakbeat elements—all while keeping it cohesive. It’s an exciting moment to finally share it with the world, and I hope it’s just the beginning of a long journey ahead.

2. The album moves seamlessly through genres—from deep house to drum and bass. How did you master the art of blending these styles while keeping a signature sound?

Drunk At Vogue: Great question! My foundation is deeply rooted in Detroit house and techno, which always gives my music a sense of continuity, no matter the tempo. Whether it’s warm basslines, soulful melodies, or hypnotic percussion, there’s always a through-line. Plus, I approached the album like a DJ set—thinking about how each track flows into the next, creating a journey rather than just a collection of songs.

3. Let’s talk about your studio. What’s your go-to gear, and what’s the one piece of equipment you couldn’t live without?

Drunk At Vogue's compact studio: where layers, EQ, and effects come to life.

Drunk At Vogue: I work with a compact but powerful setup—my Pioneer 40DM speakers and AKAI Professional MPK Mini. It’s proof that you don’t need a massive studio to create a big sound. My approach is all about layering, EQing, and using the right effects to bring warmth and depth to every track.

4. As a resident DJ at the iconic W Barcelona, how often do you take over the decks, and what’s your schedule like?

Drunk At Vogue: Yes, it's an incredible experience! I've been a resident there since April 2023, and I play about twice a week. The energy at W Barcelona is always on another level—it’s a place where you can truly create unforgettable moments on the dancefloor.

5. Your sets are known for their electrifying energy. How do you command the crowd and keep them locked in all night?

Drunk At Vogue: Reading the room is everything. A great DJ isn’t just playing music; they’re curating an experience. It’s about knowing when to surprise the crowd, when to build tension, and when to drop that one track that sends the place into a frenzy. You have to strike a balance between giving them what they need and staying true to your own sound.

6. The name ‘Drunk At Vogue’ has such a bold, unforgettable ring to it. What’s the story behind it?

Drunk At Vogue: It actually came from an episode of Sex and the City! Carrie (the protagonist) gets drunk at her job at Vogue, and I thought—what a name! It also ties into my love of ‘90s New York voguing culture, which is all about self-expression, movement, and freedom.

7. How has living in Barcelona shaped your sound?

Drunk At Vogue: Barcelona’s electronic music scene is unmatched. The city is a melting pot of underground house, techno, and experimental sounds. Playing at clubs like City Hall, La Terrazza, and Brunch Elektronic has exposed me to an incredible mix of international and local talent—it constantly pushes me to evolve.

8. You’ve played at some of the most exciting venues in Barcelona, from La Terrazza to Slow Club. Is there a standout gig that truly defined a moment for you?

Drunk At Vogue: La Terrazza, hands down—playing at Jackie’s last May. I warmed up for Piem, starting with deep Detroit house, a lot of Demarkus Lewis (one of my all-time favourites), and built it into a deep house groove. The crowd was on fire that night. It’s one of those gigs you never forget.

9. Let’s talk about your creative process. Tracks like Euphoria and Party in Detroit feel like instant classics. What was your mindset when creating them?

Drunk At Vogue: For Euphoria, I wanted to create something dark, seductive, and hypnotic—the kind of track that lingers with you. Party in Detroit was my love letter to the city’s house and techno roots. Deep rolling basslines, hypnotic drum patterns—it had to have that raw, underground energy. Kevin Saunderson was a big influence on that one. I wanted it to sound right at home on a Detroit dancefloor.

10. What’s next for Drunk At Vogue after this album release?

Drunk At Vogue: This album was a defining moment for me, but I’m already looking ahead. I want to refine my sound even further, experiment with new textures, and push myself beyond my comfort zone—even with my humble home studio setup. On the DJing side, I’m building momentum with my residencies and upcoming gigs. There’s so much more to come.
